Jay Bailey is an artist whose paintings and drawings explore themes of memory, fragmentation, and the fleeting nature of human experience. His work serves as both a record and a meditation on people, places, and moments—capturing ephemeral forms and delicate whispers of time. Through his process, Bailey delves into the way memory distorts and reconfigures, creating fragmented images that invite reflection and contemplation.
Born in Reno, Nevada, in 1976, Bailey holds a BA in Fine Art from the University of Nevada, Reno, and an MFA from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He also completed post-baccalaureate studies at the San Francisco Art Institute. His work has been exhibited in both solo and group shows across the United States, Canada, and Australia.
In addition to his artistic practice, Bailey has taught a wide range of art courses, including general and advanced drawing, figure drawing, painting, water media, and digital photography, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
